Air pollution is one of the most pressing environmental and public health issues of our time, particularly in urban centres. At Obsequio Group, we recognise that transportation and travel choices within our operations have a direct and measurable impact on air quality. Clean Air Day 2025 provides an opportunity to reflect on our current strategies and renew our commitment to reducing emissions across the board.
Within our operations, we’ve identified several consistent sources of air pollution linked to travel and fleet activity:
Our strategic approach involves both reducing these activities where possible and transforming how we undertake them to lower our emissions intensity.
Across Obsequio Group’s companies, we are embedding low-emission travel and energy efficiency into daily operations:
Sustainable Urban Travel:
Engineers operating in London use public transport – particularly the Tube – for service delivery, reducing reliance on cars and light commercial vehicles in high-emission zones.
EV Fleet Transition:
We are actively expanding our use of electric vehicles within the company fleet to reduce Scope 1 emissions from petrol and diesel.
Full Emissions Accountability:
By addressing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, we are taking a whole-systems approach covering direct operations, purchased electricity, and upstream/downstream travel.
These measures support not only environmental outcomes but also operational resilience in the face of rising fuel costs and urban low-emission zone regulations.
Our ESG strategy ensures that our commitment to clean air is not isolated, it’s integrated across all lines of business. This includes:
“Reducing air pollution means rethinking how we operate – on the road, in the office, and across our supply chains. At Obsequio, our journey to net zero is about ensuring responsibility at every level.”
— Nigel Smith, Head of ESG, Obsequio Group
Clean air is a shared responsibility. At Obsequio, we are committed to long-term, measurable reductions in emissions – not just in what we deliver, but in how we deliver it. As we progress toward our net zero 2050 target, each low-emission journey, public transport decision, and carbon reduction initiative contributes to healthier environments and more sustainable communities.
On Clean Air Day 2025, we reaffirm our position: environmental responsibility is not a side project – it’s a core operating principle.
