We’re looking for a dedicated Projects/Install Engineer to install and commission fire and security systems, on both new-build and retrofit projects.

Location: East Midlands, UK

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 DOE (OTE £45K–£55K with overtime & call-outs)

Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week

Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays

Are you an experienced installation engineer with a strong background in fire and security systems? APS Security is looking to recruit a Projects/Install Engineer to join our Midlands team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from new-build developments to retrofit upgrades, ensuring our clients receive systems that are safe, compliant, and tailored to their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Projects/Install Engineer at APS Security, you will:

  • Install and commission fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV, and access control systems to the highest standards.

  • Work on both new-build and retrofit projects, ensuring installations meet customer requirements and industry regulations.

  • Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and project plans.

  • Carry out testing, programming, and system handovers to clients.

  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget.

  • Maintain accurate project records, as-built drawings, and compliance documentation.

  • Adhere to health & safety regulations and company procedures at all times.

  • Provide client training and support on completed installations.

Who We’re Looking For:

Experience: Proven experience installing fire and/or security systems.

Knowledge: Good understanding of relevant industry standards.

Skills: Strong technical and fault-finding abilities, with the ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications.

Other:

  • Full UK driving licence is essential.

  • Professional communication and customer service skills.

  • Flexibility to travel and occasionally stay away when required.

What We Offer:
