APS Security is looking to recruit a Service Manager to oversee our service and project functions across the Midlands. Key Responsibilities:
As a Service Manager at APS Security, you will:
Operational Management
Plan, schedule, and manage all service and project works to completion, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
Allocate and manage engineer resources effectively to meet operational demands.
Monitor and improve team productivity through performance metrics and regular reviews.
Conduct regular site and engineer audits to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
Financial & KPI Management
Prepare, manage, and review financial forecasts and budgets for the service department.
Track, report, and ensure achievement of agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Identify areas for cost efficiency and productivity gains across the service function.
Team Leadership & Development
Provide leadership, motivation, and support to the engineering team.
Identify skills gaps and implement tailored training and development plans for engineers and apprentices.
Promote a positive and safe working environment that aligns with company values and standards.
Technical Support & Quality Assurance
Act as a point of technical escalation and support for engineers and clients.
Ensure all works are completed to NSI Gold and British Standard requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and technology trends.
Customer Focus
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication, service delivery, and issue resolution.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Business Growth & Planning
Contribute to strategic planning for business growth, identifying new opportunities in service delivery and project execution.
Support the onboarding of new clients and expansion into new geographical or market sectors.
Collaborate with sales and commercial teams to align operational capacity with business development.
Who We're Looking For:
Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial role within the fire and security industry, with proven success in planning, budgeting, and achieving operational targets.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of NSI Gold standards and relevant British Standards (BS 5839, BS EN 50131).
Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities, with a focus on customer satisfaction and service delivery.
Qualifications: Technical qualification in fire and/or security systems (e.g. FIA Units, City & Guilds, NVQ).
Other: Full UK driving licence required.
