Obsequio’s Big Move for Mental Health

In support of World Mental Health Day (10th October) and Men’s mental health month in November, our teams across the Group will be walking, running, cycling, or swimming over 500 miles (the distance between all of our head offices) to promote both physical and mental wellbeing while raising funds for our chosen group charity, Youth 4 Youth (Y4Y).

Why We’re Moving for Mental Health

At Obsequio, we recognise that mental health matters every day. However, during the autumn months darker evenings and busier workloads can take a toll on our wellbeing. Movement is a proven way to boost mood, reduce stress, and strengthen resilience, and that’s exactly what this challenge is all about.

We’re not just tracking miles; we’re taking steps (and pedals, and strokes) to:

  • Boost mental wellbeing through movement and connection

  • Raise awareness of the importance of mental health, especially in the workplace

  • Support a vital cause helping young people across the UK

Supporting Youth 4 Youth

Our challenge is in support of Youth 4 Youth (Y4Y), a UK-based charity providing peer-to-peer mental health mentoring for young people aged 10–25.

Founded in 2011, Y4Y’s trained volunteer mentors offer support on issues such as mental health, bullying, and education through free online services. Their mission is to reach 213,000 young people by 2028, focusing on early intervention and empowerment.

It’s a mission we’re proud to stand behind. Together, our Group aims to raise £10,000 throughout the year to help Y4Y continue their incredible work supporting young people’s mental wellbeing.

How the Challenge Works

From the 10th October to 10th November, our teams across Obsequio Group and our brands - CDS, Genex, Drax360, Drax Technology, APS, Brunel, Bryland, Metro, Dakro, Environtec and Premier - will be logging their movement miles in support of this challenge.

Here’s how we’re keeping it fun and connected:

  • Tracking our miles miles: Whether we’re walking the dog, going for a morning run, cycling to work, or hitting the pool, every bit counts. Participants will be using Strava, MapMyRun, Fitbit, Apple Health, or any preferred fitness tracker.

  • Sharing our progress: Weekly totals and photos will be sent to our Charity Champions, who’ll help us keep the momentum going.

  • Follow our virtual route: Each time we hit a new checkpoint - one of our head offices - we’ll share an update on LinkedIn to celebrate our progress together.

By the end of the challenge, we’ll create a Group collage showcasing the people behind the miles and the collective effort that made it happen.

A United Effort Across the Group

The Big Move for Mental Health is not just about the distance, it’s about unity.

We’re connecting colleagues across all our offices, getting active, and championing an important cause together. Every step taken and every donation made brings us closer to our target and to building a culture where mental wellbeing is openly supported and prioritised.

Join Us on the Journey

We’ll be sharing weekly progress updates throughout the challenge on our LinkedIn pages, so follow along to see how far we’ve come and help cheer us on!

If you’d like to support the Obsequio Big Move for Mental Health and help raise vital funds for Youth 4 Youth, you can donate through our JustGiving link here.

Together, we can make a difference - one step, one mile, and one conversation at a time.
